Editorial Policy

doghousecasino.us exists to help U.S. readers make informed decisions about social casinos, sweepstakes-style gaming, and related entertainment products. This page explains how we do that — who writes the content, how we research and fact-check it, how we handle compensation, and how we correct mistakes.

1. Our mission

Social and sweepstakes casinos have grown into a large, fast-moving industry. Bonus rules, state availability, and operator terms change frequently, and much of the online coverage is written to sell, not to inform. Our goal is to publish player-first, accurate, and current guides that a typical U.S. adult can read in a few minutes and walk away with a clear picture of how a product actually works.

2. Editorial independence

Our reviews, ratings, and opinions are our own. We maintain a firm separation between editorial content and commercial partnerships:

  • Operators, affiliate networks, and advertisers do not review, approve, or influence the content of our articles before publication.
  • A commercial relationship with an operator does not guarantee a positive review, a higher rating, or preferential placement.
  • We publish both positive and negative findings about partners, including cautionary notes about state restrictions, unclear bonus terms, payment issues, and other concerns.
  • We refuse compensation in the form of gifts, personal credits, or other benefits that would create a conflict of interest.

For how we earn revenue, see Section 7 and our Affiliate Disclosure.

3. Who writes our content

Every article on doghousecasino.us is produced by a named human author with relevant experience in iGaming, U.S. regulatory frameworks, or consumer product journalism. We identify authors with a byline, job title, and, where relevant, a short biographical note.

Our writers and editors hold a background in one or more of the following:

  • Coverage of licensed U.S. online casinos and sportsbooks.
  • Research on social-casino and sweepstakes business models.
  • U.S. state gaming laws and regulator publications.
  • Consumer-protection topics, including FTC guidance on endorsements and disclosures.

We do not publish anonymous opinion pieces about operators, bonuses, or state eligibility.

4. How we research reviews

Before we publish or update a review, we complete the following steps:

  1. Read the operator’s official website, app-store listings, and press releases.
  2. Review the Terms of Use, Sweepstakes Official Rules, Privacy Policy, and responsible-play pages.
  3. Cross-reference state availability and sweepstakes restrictions with the operator’s stated rules.
  4. Where possible, create a test account or, for social casinos, review public demo content.
  5. Compare the headline marketing claims against the fine print and flag any contradictions.
  6. Check the operator against public news, regulatory notices, and consumer complaints from the last 12 months.

When a claim cannot be independently verified, we either exclude it, attribute it clearly (“The operator states…”), or mark it as uncertain.

5. Sources we trust

We prioritize primary sources — the operator itself, official regulators, and published laws — over secondary sources. Our typical hierarchy:

  1. The operator’s official website, app listing, and Terms of Use.
  2. U.S. state gaming regulators and attorneys-general publications.
  3. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidance on endorsements and advertising.
  4. National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and other responsible-play authorities.
  5. Reputable news outlets with demonstrated expertise in iGaming.

We avoid relying on unnamed forums, affiliate coupon directories, or unverified social-media claims.

6. Fact-checking

Before publication, every review passes at least one editor review focused on:

  • Accuracy: numbers (bonus size, playthrough, state list) are checked against the operator’s official page on the day of publication.
  • Clarity: the distinction between social, sweepstakes, and real-money models is never blurred.
  • Balance: both strengths and risks are disclosed.
  • Compliance: responsible-play messaging is present and visible, and any affiliate relationship is disclosed up-front.

7. Compensation and affiliate relationships

doghousecasino.us earns revenue through a combination of:

  • Affiliate commissions when readers sign up with a partner operator after clicking an outbound link on our site.
  • Display advertising where relevant.

Commissions are paid by the operator or affiliate network, not by you, and they do not change the price you pay. We disclose the presence of affiliate links clearly on each page that contains them. Our commercial team and our editorial team operate under a strict separation: commercial deals are never a condition for coverage, and editors are not given revenue targets tied to specific operators. See the Affiliate Disclosure for full details.

8. How often we update content

The social-casino industry changes quickly. We plan to review each main review page at least every 90 days, and sooner if:

  • An operator materially changes its bonuses, currencies, or redemption rules.
  • A state changes its position on sweepstakes or social-casino play.
  • A reader flags a problem or inconsistency (see Section 10).
  • A regulator or court issues a decision that affects the content.

The “Updated” date at the top of every article shows the date of the most recent material review.

9. Corrections policy

We correct errors openly. If we publish something materially incorrect, we will:

  1. Fix the mistake as soon as practical.
  2. Add a short correction note at the foot of the article describing what changed.
  3. Update the “Updated” date.
  4. Where the error is substantial (e.g., wrong state eligibility, wrong bonus rule), issue a clear correction notice.

We do not silently edit content to rewrite history.

10. How to contact us

We welcome feedback, correction requests, and story tips:

11. AI disclosure

We use AI tools for research assistance, grammar and style suggestions, and draft formatting, under the supervision of a human author or editor. We do not publish AI-generated articles without human research, editorial judgment, and fact-checking. Every page on the site is reviewed by a named human before publication.

12. Responsible coverage

We treat gambling-style content as consumer information, not as encouragement to play. Every review and guide on the site contains at minimum:

  • A visible 18+ / 21+ notice.
  • A statement of whether the product is real-money, social, or sweepstakes.
  • Contact information for problem-gambling help: 1-800-GAMBLER, NCPG, Gamblers Anonymous.
